A colourful campaign from Lizzo and the Nissan KICKS that’s all about self expression

With two-tone colour options, unique customizations, and a killer sound system, the Nissan Kicks is all about self-expression. That’s why Nissan Canada enlisted the help of one of the most expressive breakout musical artists in the world, Lizzo.

Colour was central to the campaign, featuring the distinctive Monarch Orange of the Kicks. Our hero :30 spot saw a young woman leave her mark on the city, splashing a wave of colour everywhere she travelled in the Kicks. The spot was scored by Lizzo’s track, Better in Colour.

Online, the campaign continued with radio station partnerships and contests to win tickets to see Lizzo live in Toronto. A custom Kicks Snapchat filter even let their users try different colour combinations and style customizations.

And with a strategic media buy, when Lizzo performed on the wildly popular online video series, Tiny Desk Concerts, we built even more connection with the brand. With Lizzo decked out in Monarch Orange earrings, nail polish, and jump suit, our matching Kicks featured in an accompanying display ad, reminding all of Canada that life is better in colour.
